A single residential house for a young couple, this 2 storey dwelling was designed as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional beach-house, with undercroft parking and bedrooms downstairs leading up to the living areas upstairs. It sits on an elevated beachfront block in the first stage of the Port Bouvard residential development, Northport. Less than 100m from the high water mark the site is exposed to all of nature’s extremes, from glorious sunsets to howling rain storms.
It consists of a two storey, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom plus study beach-house, incorporating open plan kitchen/ living/ dining. The living areas are located on the upper floor, open onto the decks that embrace the magnificent views; ocean to the West, and the coastal pain, estuary and bridge to the East are extraordinary.
This project was originally designed by Meaghan White Architect, with follow up detail design development and documentation by a+a macliver, for the approvals phases and subsequent tender/construction phases. This collaborative approach to the delivery of the project was a most successful and rewarding process for the team and the client.
